Experience Lake Michigan the way it used to be! Lovingly restored 1930s beachfront cottage, located in a quiet residential area. The cottage sits on a wooded double lot nestled on a dune facing Lake Michigan. There is a private stairway leading to nearly 140 feet of private beach*.
Escape from the hustle-bustle of everyday life. Disconnect from technology and reconnect with your family, friends, or yourself. Take long walks on the beach, enjoy the water, build sand castles, bring bikes to ride along the trails. On rainy days, watch the storm blow across the lake, be amazed by the lightning show or take the opportunity to play board games, read or explore nearby Grand Haven. At night, appreciate the thousands of stars in the sky or enjoy a campfire in the include Solo Stove on the deck.
Just 6 miles south of Grand Haven but a world away. Wake up to the sound of birds and sip coffee while watching boats sail by, enjoy sunset dining in the comfort of the screened in porch or on the outside patio deck, then fall asleep to the sound of the waves.
*NOTE: After the high water levels, our beach is coming back and, we have re-built stair access to the beach from the cottage. The views from the cottage are fantastic as well as the sunsets.
The Cottage offers free Wi-Fi, a newly renovated kitchen, coffee maker, stove, microwave, refrigerator, and pantry area. Beach umbrellas, Beach towels, and beach chairs are also a part of your rental.
Indoor dining area features banquette seating. A charming antique walnut table is perfect for family meals or a game of Scrabble.
Sleeps 4 comfortably. There is 1 bedroom with a double bed and a sofa in the living room that converts to a queen-size bed.
The cabin includes a bathroom with a shower stall. There is also an outdoor shower, with tempered water, adjacent to the outside deck, ideal for rinsing off before entering the cottage.
Gas BBQ grill on the outside deck allows for grilling. Solo bonfire stove on the deck for S'mores or the joy of a campfire at night. Savor the great Lake view and one-of-a-kind sunsets as you dine at the picnic table.
For other recreation, Kirk Park is 1/2 mile away with nice hikes and Pigeon Lake is a few miles south for putting in boats and/or kayaks. These are easily accessed via the bike trails that run directly in front of the entrance to our neighborhood.
**Please note there are a set of stairs from the parking area to the entrance of the cottage as well as stairs from the cottage to the beach. Additionally, please know this is a 1930's cottage and had a rustic nature to it. While we have made upgrades, it does have that old home charm and the nuances that come with it.
As this is in a neighborhood, we ask that you please respect the community quiet hours of 10:00 p.m. - 8:00 a.m.

Summary: This is a perfect cottage in the woods on the lake. The view of the lake is stunning, with several places on the property to take it in. The porch was perfect for breakfast. Everything was immaculate. So many niceties- included things we've never had before in rentals to make our stay feel like home. LOVE the modern updates while maintaining the charm of its history. Host was in contact with us immediately. All the amenities- numerous and high quality! Patio, deck, stairs, outdoor lighting, outdoor shower, grill, fire pit, beach chairs (Tommy Bahama!), numerous power strips indoors- just top-notch. Dishware, glassware- large variety- even bag clips, which is small, but so appreciated! :-) Great utilization of a smaller space- cupboards and drawers everywhere. We absolutely loved this cozy cottage and definitely recommend for others looking for the same. ~S.

Summary: We were on the hunt for a quaint historic cabin to relax on Lake Michigan. This place was perfect. Jason has done an incredible job updating the cabin while retaining the historic charm. It was like a step into another world. Jason was flexible with our arrival times and always a quick text away. We were allowed to use the beach chairs and umbrellas. The beach access was perfect and quiet. We absolutely loved the enclosed porch and spent days reading listening to the waves! We will be back next year!

Summary: We booked a weekend at the Miller's cottage to celebrate our anniversary. The cottage was perfect for two. The bed was comfy, and the kitchen was amply stocked. We had everything we could possibly need from towels to beach chairs to wine glasses to...well, everything! The view was glorious! We were close to Grand Haven and Holland for day trips. Kirk Park nearby would be a fantastic spot for a beach day (in warmer weather!) A note for those who visit in the fall -- it was chilly. We came prepared with layers and the space heater helped a lot (and the comforter on the bed was amazing, never cold while sleeping!) Just be aware that the cabin isn't heated and come ready with your fuzzy slippers! The stairs leading to the cottage and to the beach are steep, but easy to navigate. Again, just be ready to carry suitcases down a set of stairs and pack accordingly. If you plan to share the space, be aware the bedroom opens into the living room without a door. Not a problem for us, since we were alone, but something to consider when traveling with a group. If you're looking for a cozy getaway for two, and you want peace, quiet, and a gorgeous view, the Miller's cottage is perfect!

Summary: The cabin was very clean, cute, and looks way better in person. The pictures don’t do it justice. The beach down the stairs was isolate and beautiful. I could live on that beach. The Weber grill and solo stove fire pit were impressive. The sunset in September was gorgeous. Would come back here again!
